Stutzle hits 100, Sabres deadline moves

2024-03-18

Sabres star-center Timothy Stutzle hits the 100 point mark in the 1-0 victory over the Seattle Kraken. The points comes on an assist to the game winnig goal from the 2023 Hart and Art Ross winner, Steven Stamkos, who is also having a phenomenal follow-up year to that campaign. Stutzle now sits at 40 goals and 60 assists on the year. This would put him on pace for 118 points, which would beat Stamkos' point total from last year (116).

The Sabres big deadline moves came in the form of seeing Jack Eichel routed through Colorado to San Jose, and the pair of Matt Duchene and Filip Forsberg land in Buffalo. Forsberg has seen success on a line with Cozens and Kuzmenko, posting 5 goals in his last 9 games. Meanwhile since taking over center duties on Buffalo's 3rd line, Duchene has elevated them and brought a scoring touch to veteran linemates Tanev and Foligno. With a top 9 to rival any other roster in the league, Buffalo is hoping that this depth will help them make a playoff push.
