Where in the World Juniors are your favorite prospects?
2023-12-26Hey all,
It's my favorite time of year, WJC time. As per normal, I have looked at every roster in the WJC and broken down which STHL team has the most representatives (I'll do the same for the RHL and KPHL as well).
Arizona, Calgary, and Winnipeg lead the way with 9, 8, and 7 prospects respectively.
Arizona came in with an impressive 7 picks in the first 2 rounds. The Coyotes have 4 first rounders (Bystedt, Cowan, Wood, Bonk) and 3 second rounders (Hameenaho, Sopaliv, Minten)
Calgary has 3 first rounders (Edstrom, Yager, Geekie)
Winnipeg has 2 first rounders (Perreault, Ostlund) and 1 second rounder (Nyman)
There are 5 teams with 0 WJC prospects- Buffalo, Edmonton, Ottawa, everyone's favorite team Seattle, and Toronto
Undrafted by STHL but drafted by NHL teams and in WJC:
FIN | Oiva | Keskinen | C | CBJ | |
CZE | C | Jiri | Kulich | C | BUF |
Drafted by us and is in the WJC but not drafted in the NHL:
SWE | Hugo | Hävelid | G | ARI (STHL) |
